STAY TRUE TO YOUR OWN GOALS!

Recently, I learned that two "over 40" friends have new jobs that fit their personal goals.  Now, what do I mean by "personal goals"?  Basically, they are accomplished professionals who recognize the need to make time in their life for other things than working 10-12 hours a day.

Both of these people pursued jobs that allowed them to use their skills, abilities and experience within an eight-hour day.  They are individual contributors and they are satisfied with their role.  Yes, they made calculated tradeoffs, and one in particular is base salary.  However, they were both able to negotiate for a reasonable base salary for the position and were able to receive some other benefits such as more vacation time.  It can work!

So, for those of you "nay sayers", how about considering your goals and try letting go of unreasonable expectations?  Let me know what you think!

Have a great weekend!
